The colorful main torii, (gate) marks the entrance to Yasukuni Shrine

During the spring many colorful lanterns and food stalls can be seen lining the streets

When walking around this complex many monuments and structures are covered in a sea of pink flowers

Usually in the news for all the wrong reasons, Yasukuni Shrine in Central Tokyo is a great place to visit during the Cherry Blossom season (from March to April), as this site is transformed into a colorful array of beautiful pink flowers.

Attracting a wide array of casual visitors during this brief period, this is without doubt a very picturesque and suprisingly peaceful time to visit this famous shrine
