Chureito Pagoda, Fujiyoshida

Excellent Mount Fuji views with cherry blossoms

The Chureito Pagoda, built in 1963 as a peace memorial, is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine in Fujiyoshida, a 10-minute train ride from Kawaguchiko station. Get off at Shimoyoshida station on the Fujikyu line, from there it's a 10-minute walk. The pagoda is a popular spot for viewing and photographing Mount Fuji, especially during the cherry blossom and autumn colour season. You will need to climb about 400 steps to reach the pagoda and the best view, but every step is worth it.
