As the cooler months arrive, many illumination events begin to pop up on the calendar. One of them is the HANA BIYORI X Bamboo Akari event, where approximately 1000 lights will illuminate the garden grounds. What makes this illumination unique is that the lights shine through holes made in bamboo sticks and from bamboo "chandeliers" hanging around the venue.
Admission to the event is priced at ¥ 900 for adults, and ¥ 500 for children from 3 years old to elementary school age. Do note that if you're visiting Yomiuriland on the same day, discount tickets for Hana Biyori are available.
Getting there
The Hana Biyori Botanical Garden is located approximately 10 minutes on foot from the Keio Yomiuri Land Station, which is served by the Keio Sagamihara Line.
For those who opt to drive, there is a multi-story parking lot available for Hana Biyori patrons. Do note that it's a separate parking lot from the neighboring Yomiuriland amusement park.
