Amano-Hashidate to Maizuru

Summer cycling along Kyoto's beautiful coastline

The stretch of coast between Amano-Hashidate and Maizuru offered smooth cycling on a very nice road with wonderful views of the ocean. Pine trees clung to rocky outcrops, and white sandy beaches bordered the blue, blue sea. I wanted to continue up the coast towards Fukui, but after four days of cycling my body was exhausted, so with regret I finished my trip at Maizuru.
