From Kotohikihama to Amanohashidate

Summer cycling through the heart of Tango Peninsula

<p>There was a small history park with a thatched roof building - but I can't find it on the map and I couldn't read the name.</p>

After spending the night at a camping ground on Kotobikihama, I left the coast of Tango Peninsula and headed inland through a landscape of rice fields, small towns, and forest-covered hills. There wasn't much English in the Japanese countryside (or on my Japanese map!) so most of the time I had no idea where I was, but it made me feel like a true explorer! I arrived back in Amano-Hashidate as evening fell, and decided that I deserved a night of comfort in a hotel (and a trip to a wonderful onsen!)
