Shinnyo-do, located in the Higashi-yama section of Kyoto, is a lovely, secluded temple that is quiet and serene. Because it is just a little bit of the beaten path, it's not very crowded most of the year. But watch out during the autumn season when people flock here to see the colorful foliage.
