Maybe every person who visits Kyoto goes to Nanzenji, but not everyone gets to see it in blanketed with snow. The day I was there, the recent snowfall had begun to melt, but still carpeted the ground beneath the trees and clung to the branches. Roof tiles poked their way through the blanketing snow, and someone had made snow bunnies with red berry eyes in the temple grounds.
