Uji River in Summer

One of the most beautiful rivers I have ever seen is the Uji River in Kyoto Prefecture. It flows into a long narrow lake created by the Amagase Dam, before descending past famous Byodo-in Temple to Uji City. In summer the banks are clothed in dense greenery which is reflected in the river's glassy surface. Near Uji there is a low stone wall along the bank opposite Byodo-in. From Uji Bridge up to Amagase Dam is about 3 kilometers.
