Experience Togakushi’s warmth beyond noodle dishes

<p>Uzuraya Soba Restaurant, stands gracefully in the heart of Togakushi Village.</p>

<p>The building itself oozes tranquility with its traditional Japanese architecture .</p>

<p>Shopping customers are served well, while waiting customers are comforted with waiting seats and blankets.</p>

<p>Soba making ingredients are sold in front of the restaurant. The window on its back shows the room where the cooks make the soba dough.</p>

<p>Japanese style interior design with table and seats, or tatami mats. Whatever you choose, the warm atmosphere will surround you</p>

<p>Right after finding out that I couldn't read Japanese, the waiter handed me the English menu.</p>

<p>Doburoku (local milky sake), warmed for the warmth in soba eating experience.</p>

<p>Uzuraya's original hot soba, Kake soba. The chef from the first floor's kitchen delivered this soba himself to me, who was sitting on the second floor.</p>

<p>After finishing my soba, a waitress encouraged me to take a sip of sobayu (the water in which soba is boiled).</p>

Eating soba will undoubtedly leave a warm sensation for both body and mind. Eating soba in its place of origin, will leave something more.

Uzuraya Restaurant in Togakushi offers the exceptional warmth of eating soba—not just from its dishes, but through every element. From the hearty welcomes and greetings, the extra care in taking orders and delivering meals, all the way to the farewells (the cook even stopped his soba dough making process to get his head out of the window and wish me a good trip), everything is just as warm and as soothing as the noodles themselvesf.
