When it comes to booking hotel accommodation, certain things are "must-haves" for many of us. Price and proximity to transport often feature right up at the top of those considerations. When I stayed in Nagasaki recently, the APA Hotel Nagasaki Ekimae certainly checked those boxes for me.

The hotel is literally right across the street from Nagasaki Station, so it makes for a convenient home base and ensures that sightseeing around the city is a breeze. The hotel's prices are very reasonable too, with some fantastic last minute deals often available depending on the time of year that you travel. The rooms are quite small but have a very functional use of space, so you're not left feeling claustrophobic. When I entered the room I also noticed how clean everything was, and the lovely touches like the origami paper cranes placed on the bed.

The free WiFi at the hotel worked well, and there are other facilities offered such as washing machines and dryers which conveniently mean that you can travel light. There is also an on-site restaurant and bar serving up a host of eats, including both Japanese and Western-inspired cuisine, but you're in close proximity to many eateries outside the hotel if you'd prefer to branch out a little.

You'll find a range of in-room toiletries as well - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors, toothbrushes, and toothpaste are all provided as complimentary items, adding to the ability to pack lightly.

If you need an inexpensive place to base your Nagasaki travels from, and appreciate being located in the immediate vicinity of a train station, the APA Hotel Nagasaki Ekimae is a cost-friendly option to check out.

Getting there

The APA Hotel Nagasaki Ekimae is situated right across the street from Nagasaki Station - approximately three minutes on foot. It's also adjacent to the Nagasaki Prefectural Bus Terminal if you're using the bus network.
