On the weekend of October 30th and 31st, Niigata's Imayotsuka Sake Brewery is hosting an autumn sake festival. The event includes a fun 1,000 yen gachapon game containing a variety of local brews, Halloween-themed photo spots, sake lucky bags available for purchase, and even desserts for sale that contain sake lees, such as a sake lees chiffon cake.
Even if you can't visit in time for the festival, the brewery is an interesting spot to check out for anyone visiting Niigata City. It was originally founded in 1767, and it's conveniently located in walking distance from Niigata Station.
Getting there
The Imayotsuka Sake Brewery is located around 15 minutes on foot (or a five minute cab ride) from Niigata Station. The station is served by the Joetsu Shinkansen Line, the Shinetsu Main Line, the Hakushin Line, and the Echigo Line.
For those who opt to drive to the venue, there is free parking available on-site.
