Several fireworks were cancelled in Saitama this year on account of the Coronavirus. But lucky for us, Metsa Village will have three firework displays in the Autumn of 2020. Please note tickets need to be bought in advance, which can be done on the official website. Tickets cost 1000 yen but in return you will get 1000 yen of vouchers for Metsa Village on the night. They are also giving out a Moomin exclusive picnic sheet to attendees. No other picnic sheets are allowed at this event.
The fireworks are being held on Miyazawa lake in Metsa Village, Hanno, Saitama. At the moment the village also has a "Harvest" event with a balloon sky of sorts. The fireworks start from 7.30 pm and finish around 8.10 pm. One thousand fireworks will be launched on the night of Saturday October 17th, Saturday October 24th, and Saturday November 7th.
Getting there
By car: Metsa Village is about 10 minutes from the Sayama Hidaka Interchange of the Ken-o expressway.
By public transport: A bus goes from Seibu Ikebukuro Line’s Hanno Station. It takes about 13 minutes and costs 200 yen. There is normally a bus from JR Hachiko Line’s Higashi Hanno station, however that bus has been temporarily suspended. On foot it takes about 35 minutes to the park from both those stations.
