The Hana Haru Festival takes place during April in Tokushima Prefecture, and visitors to the two-day event can enjoy pleasant spring weather, representative foods and products from the region available to purchase, and cultural demonstrations including Awa Odori dancing.

The Awa Odori is Tokushima's best-known festival and usually takes place in August, so this is a great opportunity to appreciate elements of the event earlier in the year.

If you plan to visit, please note that the festival hours differ on each day. On the Saturday the event will run from 10 am until 8 pm, and on the Sunday that shortens to 10 am until 5 pm.

Getting there

The Hana Haru Festa takes place at several destinations around Tokushima City, including Aibahama Park and Awagin Hall. The venues are easily accessible from Tokushima Station (served by the Kōtoku Line, Tokushima Line, and Mugi Line) in around 5 minutes on foot.
