If you're craving a delicious wood-fired pizza in Tokyo that is more than your standard margherita, head over to 800 Degrees Wood-Fired Kitchen where fresh ingredients meet smokey flavors for a quick and delicious meal.

800 Degrees is a U.S. restaurant chain that has recently opened three restaurants in Tokyo (Minami-Aoyama, Shinjuku, and Marunouchi). The restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, and offer a wide range of pizza options (including gluten-free menu items) that will satisfy any pizza-loving customer.

The great thing about 800 Degrees is the customization the restaurant encourages (not something common in restaurants here). There are seven steps to ordering your perfect pizza:

Step 1: Choose a crust

Either original Neapolitan or gluten free.

Step 2: Choose a base

Here, you can select from five different options such as a standard margherita, marinara, or pesto.

Step 3: Choose add-ons

With 44 options on the menu, one has no shortage of choices for toppings.

Step 4: Choose a side dish

These cost extra, but the restaurant offers an assortments of salads and other side dishes.

Step 5: Choose a drink

800 Degrees has tasty craft beer and its own take on lemonade, but there are a variety of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices.

Step 6: Pay and take a ticket

Depending on what toppings you select, a typical pizza will range somewhere between 1000 and 2500 yen (unless you go crazy with your toppings choices, of course!)

Step 7: Watch it cook

Since the oven operates at 800 degrees, it only takes a total of around 90 seconds to finish your pizza. Pretty good to have the fast food speed with artisanal quality.

800 Degrees is a fantastic choice if you're looking for a delicious pizza made just the way you like it. At an average of 2000-3000 yen for a pizza and a drink, it's a little pricey, but certainly not bad for the quality of the food and compared to other eateries in their vicinity.

Getting there

The Tokyo International Forum 800 Degrees Pizza store is located a few minutes walk from either Tokyo Station, Yurakucho Station, or Hibiya Station. It is located on the first floor of the building.
