From early November until Christmas Day, Tokyo's Akihabara UDX complex will host an illumination event under the theme "Wish Upon a Star". The event will include rainbow-colored illuminated trees lining a 160 meter stretch of road, a 6.5 meter high Christmas tree glowing in bright white, illuminated walkway areas, and more.
Inside the venue there will also be seasonal videos on display which have been created by animation artist Sawako Kabuki.
Best of all, there is no admission fee to enjoy the event.
Getting there
Akihabara UDX is located around three minutes on foot from Akihabara Station, which is served by several different rail companies.
For those using the JR network, you can reach the station on the Keihin-Tohoku Line, the Yamanote Line, and the Chuo-Sobu Line. For Tokyo Metro users, the station is served by the Hibiya Line. The station is also served by the Metropolitan Intercity Railway Company's Tsukuba Express line.
