Haneda Airport at Twilight

Dramatic sunset viewed from the open deck

The other day I visited Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport) to see Edo-koji Street, which is a replicated town of the Edo Period.

Having explored the shops on this street on the 4th floor, I rode an escalator to the 5th floor to get to the observation deck. The sun was setting and the twilight sky was burning red. Curious mushroom-shaped clouds loomed in the darkening sky and it looked as though the world was about to end on this day! The truth is a typhoon was expected to hit Tokyo area the next day, thus the ominous clouds were growing in the sky. Anyway, if you'd like to see a dramatic sky without a hustle, this observation deck is the place to go!
