Tasting Japanese dishes in Sanchoku Inshokugai

<p>Inside Yurakucho Sanchoku Inshokugai. Only consisting of restaurants, this street has a very traditional and pleasant atmosphere.</p>

<p>We were invited for a food tasting session for a TV show. Now the TV crew is installing the mics.</p>

<p>Last step before the beginning of the tasting session. Let's introduce ourselves in front of the camera - lights, camera, action!</p>

<p>Here we go! The first dish is a kakiage. This one has the shape of an apple but is actually made of fried baby shrimps with a pepper on the top.</p>

<p>A very well decorated plate of sashimi: thin slices of raw fish, they are delicious with soy sauce.</p>

<p>Some kame no te - literrally meaning "turtle's hand" - they are only seafood but oddly look like the feet of our cute little shelled friends.</p>

Eating in an izakaya is a must-try experience for foreigners coming to Japan. With a huge choice of Japanese dishes and drinks, these places are always lively and filled with a very typical but friendly atmosphere.

The Yurakucho Sanchoku Inshokugai is no exception: there you can find half a dozen izakaya packed in a tiny but traditional street located under the JR bridge near Ginza station. Each restaurant is specialized in regional dishes - the hardest thing when coming there is to decide in which one to spend your time.

So what could you possibly answer when being invited by a TV show to taste as many dishes as possible in these izakaya? Itadakimasu of course!
