Sometimes we just need to get away from all of the hustle and bustle. Whether you’re in Japan on vacation or a local that’s been yearning for some down time not too far from home, Hotel Nikko Tokyo in Odaiba offers a luxurious and relaxing stay on the waterfront. Not only does each room boast a private balcony with stunning panoramic views of Tokyo skyline, the hotel offers fantastic amenities and dining options that will appeal to all senses. Come and spend an overnight stay here. Whether alone or with a family of four, here’s a sample itinerary that might be of interest to you:

Check in at 3:00pm. Courteous hotel staff will be standing by to assist you with your luggage and direct you to the front desk. Seasonal packages are available throughout the year. From April to June, Hotel Nikko Tokyo offers a plan called “Edo Ryouran” in which suites are transformed and restaurants modify their menu’s to portray the craftsmanship of the Edo Period. From tatami mat flooring, bamboo window coverings, washi lamps, woodblock prints & headboards dressed in beautifully designed yukata fabric, it’s a great way to immerse yourself into the Japanese culture, yet still have the Western creature comforts at your fingertips.

Hotel Nikko Tokyo is conveniently located adjacent to large-scale shopping centers such as Aqua City Odaiba and Decks Tokyo Beach. So before dinner, take an afternoon stroll along the boardwalk. Across the street you can find a lovely jogging park called Odaiba Marine Park. It’s especially beautiful with cherry blossoms this time of year. One of the popular attractions in this area is the miniature Statue of Liberty, which was erected in 1998 to commemorate the “Year of France” in Japan. With the backdrop of Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Bay, it’s a great photo opportunity.

At 6:30pm, enjoy room service as part of the Edo Ryouran suite plan. Choose from fish or beef, bread or rice, and tea or coffee to drink. Each are paired with an appetizer, soup & dessert. I opted for the Tokyo snapper served with salmon & tempura cherry blossoms, risoni cabbage soup, rice and dessert bread with red bean paste. Everything was excellent! By 8:00pm, enjoy a cocktail from your wet bar and step out onto your private balcony. The Tokyo skyline is just stunning at this time of day! Before it’s time to rest, take advantage of the deep soak tub and the rainfall shower with 6-jet streams. Divine!

At 7:00am the next day, enjoy the International breakfast buffet at Ocean Dining. They offer an awesome frittata bar and a great assortment of breakfast items for all palates. By 9:00am, head to the fifth floor to enjoy the luxuries of aquatics and fitness at Spazen Tokyo. The fitness center is quite spacious and has everything you need to break a sweat and get your heart rate pumping. Cool down and then make your way to the great oval pool to relax and unwind. My favorite part was stepping into the outdoor jet bath, in the rain, while overlooking the spectacular views of Odaiba & Tokyo’s skyline.

By noon, you should feel completely relaxed and ready to conquer the world at checkout. Whether your next plan is to continue trekking along the streets of Tokyo or head back to the daily grind on the job, you totally deserved this special treatment.
