Bon Odori festivals are one of the trademark events of summer in Japan, and the Kabukicho Bon Odori is an easily accessible event held in close proximity to several train stations. The festival is set to include a fun fusion of traditional bon odori dance songs along with modern pop songs, and anyone is welcome to take part.
In addition to the bon odori dancing, there will also be a lively taiko drum performance from Tokyo Otome Taiko.
The event is set to run from 4 pm until 8 pm, with the dance portion commencing at 6 pm. Admission is free of charge, so be sure to stop by if you're in the area.
Getting there
The event takes place at Cine City Square, which can be accessed in just three minutes on foot from Seibu-Shinjuku Station (Seibu Shinjuku Line), six minutes on foot from Shinjuku Nishiguchi Station (Toei Oedo Line), or seven minutes on foot from Shinjuku Sanchome Station (Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin and Marunouchi lines).
