Born in Paris, the hip backstreet sandwich shop Mmmozza has now arrived in Tokyo at new locations in Harajuku and Aoyama (the latter opening at the end of April). Mmmozza promising ammmazing mozzarella-inspired freshly made sandwiches the likes of which Tokyo has not seen before.

The original Mmmozza developed something of a reputation for its freshly made sandwiches packed full of freshly cut, milky buffalo mozzarella cheese, but it's also well-known for its chic street food origins and street art-inspired, brightly-lit vibrant interior. Founded in 2011 by French actor and healthy street food enthusiast, Yannig Samot, the idea for Mmmozza originally came from his travels around Italy trying to find the freshest and finest ingredients.

Sandwiches at Mmmozza come in half- (15 cm) and full-size (30 cm) varieties, with customers able to customise both bread (baguette, ciabatta, focaccia) and cured charcuterie meat (prosciutto, mortadella, salami, roti) across 3 main types: the Laura, the Yaya and the Peppaa. The Laura (half size 880 yen and full size 1480 yen) combines mozzarella, arugula, and cured meat then seasoned with olive oil, whilst the vegetarian-friendly Yaya (half 780 yen and full1280 yen) swaps out the meat for grilled vegetables.
