Throughout the year this gorge is an impressive sight, but even more so during the autumn season where the rich and vibrant colors bring everything to life! (Photo: Steve Morton)

Okutama's Kazuma Gorge

Natural beauty within a Tokyo oasis

Running upstream from Shinomaru Dam towards Okutama Station, Kazuma Gorge provides some of the best views of the Tama River where you can watch it flowing by majestically from one peaceful valley into the next.

Situated along this picturesque stretch of the river are many pleasant walking trails and rest areas where it is possible to enjoy a wide variety of leisure activities including barbecuing, camping, and fishing.

With Okutama Station only a short walk away, Kazuma Gorge provides an easy but unforgettable escape away from the concrete jungle.
