From September 19th until November 8th, the Tokyo Station Gallery is hosting a special exhibition titled " Otsu-e: Another History of Edo Painting". Otsu-e is a traditional type of folk art dating back to the 17th Century, but these kinds of works haven't typically been displayed in a gallery format before - they're more commonly seen as historical documents and folklore items. The exhibition looks at Otsu-e in a more artistic way, and encourages visitors to appreciate their unique charm and the window they provide into the Edo period.

Getting there

The Tokyo Station Gallery is located just outside the ticket gates at JR Tokyo Station's Marunouchi North Exit.

For those who are arriving at Tokyo Station via either the Marunouchi, Tozai, or Chiyoda subway lines, head out of exit M12. Once you're above ground, enter the JR Tokyo Station Marunouchi North Dome which will be in front of you. The museum entrance is on your left.
