If you're looking for a bit of festive fun with a purpose this December, look no further than Santa Parade Tokyo. The charity event was first held in Tokyo in 2018, and involves participants dressing up in Santa costumes and either completing a 4.3 kilometer fun run, or a two kilometer walk.
The event's participation fees (¥3,300 for adults, ¥2,200 for high school/university students, and ¥1,100 for children from 3 years old to junior high school age) go towards both domestic and international children's charities, exemplifying the Christmas spirit of giving. The fee also includes a Santa costume, but if you already have one feel free to bring it along.
