Tofuku-ji Temple in Shibuya

A peaceful sanctuary in the busy heart of the city

Shibuya may be one of the most bustling parts of Tokyo, but even here it's possible to find a peaceful spot to escape the noise and crowds. Next to Konno Hachimangu Shrine, Tofuku-ji is a compact Buddhist temple, with quiet, leafy grounds, a handful of interesting statues and carvings, and a restful atmosphere that'll leave you feeling mellow and refreshed.
