If you're looking for a delicious way to escape Tokyo's summer heat, Toranomon Hills is launching its first-ever TORANOMON COOL SUMMER event from mid-July to the end of August. It's set to transform the popular complex into a celebration of chilled food, refreshing desserts, and creative seasonal cuisine.
Created in response to Japan's increasingly hot summers, the event brings together restaurants across Toranomon Hills with a lineup of limited-time dishes designed to cool you down while making the most of seasonal ingredients.
The menu goes far beyond standard ice cream and kakigori. Adventurous visitors can try unusual creations like a dried sardine butter ice bar, a dessert banh mi filled with mango and coconut ice cream, or a chilled chocolate Korean pancake topped with vanilla ice cream. Seasonal fruit also takes center stage, with peach, mango, and lychee appearing in parfaits, granitas, and elegant Japanese-inspired sweets.
If you're after something savory, there are plenty of summer-exclusive dishes to choose from. Restaurants will be serving chilled mapo tofu, cold tantan noodles, refreshing soy milk tantanmen, chilled oden with tomato broth, citrus-topped soba, and an impressive selection of cold pasta creations featuring seafood and seasonal vegetables.
The summer festivities extend beyond the main event, too. Toranomon Yokocho will host a rotating "Cooling POP UP" featuring popular specialty shops from around Japan, serving everything from shaved ice and chilled ramen to cold soba throughout the season. Meanwhile, T-MARKET will embrace the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese summer festival with games, special menus and festival-themed treats during its limited-time TORANOBON celebration in mid-August.
- Please note, the official website linked in the sidebar for the event is not set to go live until July 17th.
