Vegan Cafe By Love is located in the Nishiazabu area of Tokyo, and they focus on creating 100% plant-based meals that also offer a touch of spirituality. As most of us have likely experienced, the food we eat impacts our overall health — not just physically, but emotionally and mentally, too. The cafe's health-focused meals are designed to put you at your optimal best, and assist with improving mood, vitality, and creativity to name a few.

Many of the dishes at By Love focus on chakras. Chakras are essentially energy centers of our body, and there are seven of them: the crown chakra, third-eye chakra, throat chakra, heart chakra, solar plexus chakra, sacral chakra, and root chakra. Each chakra is said to control an element of our holistic health — for instance, our throat chakra centers around our ability to communicate and express ourselves. Our chakras can be disrupted and cause various health issues, and often the food we consume can be an underlying cause. The cafe has several different chakra healing smoothie bowls which come packed full of organic ingredients and super foods, like the heart chakra bowl which contains kale, spirulina, bananas, and coconut water. There are also soups which assist the root, sacral, and crown chakras, and a curry containing chickpeas, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, bok choy, and coconut milk, said to be great for unblocking the solar plexus chakra.

Outside the specific chakra balancing dishes, there are plenty of other healthy options, including avocado toast, salad bowls, pastas, and one of the most aesthetically pleasing sandwiches you're likely to see in your lifetime. If you need something sweet to cap off your meal with, the "nice cream" (vegan-friendly ice cream) with almonds and maple syrup is a popular choice. There are an impressive range of beverages on offer too, including smoothies, coffees, teas, and cold-pressed juices.

Do note that the cafe is closed each Monday if you're planning to visit.
