Set in the bustling heart of the Shimokitazawa district, Vizz Café is the perfect place to rejuvenate after a long day of sightseeing. The large open floor café and restaurant, reflective of the bohemian themed neighborhood of Shimokita is extremely popular amongst locals and offers both a lunch and dinner service. Home to a myriad of winding alleyways and small bars, Shimokita has become the destination of choice for Tokyo's youth and is the perfect place to base yourself for your stay in the city or just spend the day combing through the variety of second-hand clothing and music stores.

Much like the neighborhood it is based in, Vizz Café has a bit of everything. Formal seating is limited to two tables only, but large chesterfield sofas and other alternative modes of seating are also available. The venue itself is clad with miscellaneous antiques ranging from miniaturized Che Gueveras to garden gnomes, a hip, quasi 1970's type feel pervades throughout the café.

Open from midday, the venue doesn’t really specialize in anything in particular. A comprehensive selection of coffee and tea is available and for those wanting something a little bit stronger, there is tap beer and cocktails on offer. Expect to pay around the ¥400-¥500 mark for the non-alcoholic beverages whilst beers are reasonably priced at ¥500.

The cuisine is decidedly western, with a variety of soul food on the menu. The most popular item on the menu are the hard shell tacos which are reasonably priced at ¥620, however, the cheese platter is considered the best value costing only ¥710. For those wanting something a little bit more wholesome, consider the tandoori chicken and rice which is served in hearty portions for ¥600.

For those with a more of a sweet tooth, a selection of parfaits is on the menu starting at ¥450.

The venue also offers special deals for birthday parties, however, it is advised to approach the friendly staff directly to individualize your program.
