Fukui Prefectural Green Center in Sakai City is mainly divided in two sections. One is the green park, and the other is the botanical gardens. While the green park area is relatively crowded with people playing freely in the vast recreational space, the botanical gardens are silent. It looks like a quiet forest in which pretty gardens and green houses are neatly landscaped. When I visited here on the first day of Golden Week Holidays, during which parks are supposed to be crowded everywhere in Japan, I only met a few people inside these gardens. Therefore, it must be safe to say you can enjoy tranquility in these beautiful gardens at any time throughout the year!
