The Engyo-ji Temple on Mount Shosha in Himeji has over 2,000 years of history, and it became even more famous in 2003 as a filming location for 'The Last Samurai.' Before that, it had long been known for its beautiful fall foliage, which peaks at the end of November and is marked by the Mt. Shosha Autumn Leaf Festival.
