Due to a landslide that occurred in March, the Achi Village Peach Blossom Festival will be cancelled in 2024. However, you can still view the blossoms on National Route 153 and National Route 256 "Hanamomo Kaido."
From mid-April to mid-May, Nagano's Achi Village comes alive with the color of around 10,000 peach trees in bloom, filling the area with stunning shades of red, white, and pink. An annual festival takes place when the blossoms are at their best, and the event also includes a variety of local agricultural products for sale – including peach tree seedlings if you want to try and grow your own.
One of the most enjoyable features of this festival is that timing-wise, visitors can enjoy the peach blossoms at the same time as various other blooms including cherry blossoms, azaleas, and skunk cabbages.
During the flowering period, the peach blossoms will be illuminated from 6 pm until 11 pm.
Getting there
