Running for over 30 years now, the Nagaoka Flower Fair presents the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of seasonal springtime color. The event includes approximately 20,000 flowers such as pansies, snapdragons, and delphiniums, which even more impressively have been grown from seeds by local citizens.
Along with the wide array of blooms to explore, the flower fair will also include opportunities to purchase flower seedlings and gardening goods, plus food trucks on-site if you need a bite to eat or drink.
Admission to the event itself is free, but do bring yen if you plan on making a purchase.
Getting there
The event takes place at the Nagaoka City Disaster Prevention Park (on Google Maps as Nagaoka Shimin Bosai Park), which can be accessed in 5 minutes by taxi or 15 minutes on foot from Nagaoka Station.
A bus service is also available from the station to the park, and timetable details can be found here (in Japanese).
