ARK would have a much more difficult job in the city. The fresh air and abundance of quiet areas to walk the dogs must really help the shelter run smoothly

The second part of the shelter is located just a short walk from the main facilities and surrounding area is just incredible

The grounds beautifully merge with the surrounding nature making the location the perfect for the rehabilitation of mistreated and neglected animals

There are also ducks at ARK though the wild foxes in the area sadly pose a threat

The facilities meet the mountain side giving the animals a sense of peace

It's great to see the animals enjoying themselves regardless of their past. These three were really friendly

Feeding the animals is a real task and this is why volunteers are highly appreciated

While I didn’t have the time to volunteer at ARK though walking around the grounds was a real pleasure and gave me a taste of the daily activities at the centre. The location was incredible enough but the work the staff put in and the maintenance it must take to keep the place running smoothly and effectively is hard to imagine.

I highly advise you visit too though volunteering would be far more beneficial then just coming to see what takes place there. Walking the dogs, feeding and cleaning the animal’s homes all takes time and an extra pair of hands can go a long way.
