A Walk to the Tsuzura Castle Ruins

<p>Wheat makes me think of late summer, but it's harvested in spring here</p>

<p>Tsubame, or swallows, nest in rafters like this each spring, with eggs hatching in May</p>

<p>Tsutsuji, or azaleas, are abundant in May</p>

<p>These fresh spring onions went straight onto the grill and were quite delicious</p>

<p>A sluice to control stream flow and flood fields in spring</p>

<p>A leisurely stroll allows time to watch a bumblebee and appreciate their hard work</p>

<p>This rather interesting spider looks like Plexippus setipes, but it was larger than that species</p>

<p>Inside one of the dirt trenches on the way to the ruins; I thought this tree resembled a goat</p>

The Tsuzura Castle Ruins aren’t a whole lot to see anymore, but the area is still good for walking and enjoying some fresh air. Nothing much is left of the castle except for some raised areas of dirt and a couple of markers pointing out where buildings and walls used to stand. Nonetheless, here is a selection of wildlife and flowers I saw while out for a walk on that fine day in late May.
