Great food, good value for money, and a fun atmosphere - those are usually my dining out criteria, and when I can achieve all three at the one place I'm a happy camper. In the Tokyo suburb of Fussa there's a tasty Thai restaurant on Route 16 which ticks all of those boxes - Khao Man Gai.
It's hard to miss the restaurant as you're heading along the main drag, since there's a traditional Thai tuk tuk out the front, small stools to sit on, and Singha beer flags and an umbrella (Singha is the official beer of Thailand).
The lunch menu here is particularly wallet-friendly. For 1000 yen, you're able to choose from one main dish (the options include pad thai, chicken ga pao, tom yum noodles, and the restaurant's namesake, khao man gai, among others) alongside unlimited green curry, jasmine rice, and soup. They also do the lunch menu to-go, but it doesn't include the green curry or rice, so dining in is advised if you're wanting to maximize your yen! If you visit with children, they also have several kids meals options available (600 yen) which come served with ice cream.
The inside of the restaurant is quite small, and since it's a popular spot with the local community you may find yourself having to wait for a table if you visit right as the lunch rush hits. Because of that, I recommend getting there early if feasible. The staff speak English, and English menus are also available, so don't let a lack of Japanese deter you from visiting.
