Moshi Moshi Rooms Origami

Going to Harajuku can be an exciting adventure. The lights, the smells, the colors—it comes at you from every corner. But when all the sightseeing and shopping are done it’s important to have a hotel room where you can relax and unwind. Moshi Moshi Room Origami location is just the place for you.

Origami is located in a quiet part of Harajuku, only a 10-minute walk from Takeshita Dori. This Airbnb hotel is on the 4th floor (although there isn't elevator available the administrator will carry your luggage when you arrive to check-in) and as you climb the stairs, you’ll notice the bright tiles on the wall that look like pieces of origami paper fluttering in the wind. Once inside the small red door, you’ll remove your shoes in the genkan (entryway) and put on some house slippers. Now it’s time to marvel at this delicate soft space.

The front room is a delight of gentle light and geometric shapes. From the stools and carpet rugs to the hanging umbrella lights—everywhere seems to whisper for you to relax. After enjoying a cup of tea on the bench beneath the light-up cherry tree branch-shaped arch it’s on to the bedroom.

What gorgeous, rich colors everywhere – it’s a photographer’s dream. The worn tatami floors are gentle to the feet and the vibrant shoji (paper) doors made from washi (Japanese paper) create some serious eye candy. The golden origami cranes evoke peace of mind and upon opening the shoji doors you’ll find some of the most comfortable mattresses—really, be careful as the floor beneath you practically sinks. The not-too-soft, not-too-firm mattresses offered a perfect night’s rest (not to mention a quick nap after all the day’s walking).

The room can sleep up to five people, so it’s perfect for couples or groups of friends traveling together, or maybe you just want to treat yourself. There are plenty of comforts and amenities in Origami as well. From the tea canisters holding things like hairbands, Q-tips, and cotton swabs to provided shampoo, conditioner, and laundry detergent at the in-room washing machine—it’s a great place to relax and fall into a Japanese fairytale.

In the area, there’s a convenience store, a great hamburger place across the street, and plenty more between the hotel and Harajuku Station. Explore after you check-in and find out all Harajuku and Omotesando have to offer, or use it as a travel hub to the nightlife of Shibuya. Or enjoy the roof of the building, complete with a BBQ set and lovely nightscape of the city. Wherever you decide to go, you’ll be happy when you return to Origami for the night’s rest.
