In Tokyo's Edogawa Ward and sitting within the expansive Kasai Rinkai Park is the ever popular Tokyo Sea Life Park.
A public aquarium, the park offers an Admission Free Day each year on May 4th in honour of Greenery Day during Japan's Golden Week holiday period. With a saving of up to JPY700, the Admission Free Day is a most welcome offer for families and tourists on tight budgets.
Working to reproduce natural aquatic and oceanic habitats, Tokyo Sea Life Park features some 650 different creatures within 47 different tanks. The hundreds of free swimming bluefin tuna are particularly popular but the aquarium also features tanks that focus deep sea life, coastal water and freshwater life. Sharks, penguins and specimens from the Arctic and Antarctic Oceans also feature.
Entry to the park between 29th April - 8th May requires prior reservation.
