Venue : Ondeko Dome When : Late Apr 2025

Located in the Sea of Japan, Niigata's Sado Island is known for its natural beauty, with lush greenery, pristine beaches, and rolling hills serving as some of the highlights. It makes for an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts, and if you're a runner the Sado Toki Marathon is an event you should consider taking part in.

While the event bills itself as a marathon, there are other shorter distances available, too – a half marathon, a 10km event and even 1.5 and 3km fun run routes. Whether you're confident in the full 42km length or you'd prefer something a bit more manageable, the nature-surrounded courses will certainly power you along!

If you do plan on taking part, please note that the marathon, half marathon, and 10km events take place on the Saturday, and the fun run distances (1.5km and 3km) take place on the Sunday.

Getting there

The event starts from the Ondeko Dome, which is around 500 meters (about 5 minutes on foot) from Ryotsu Port or about 40km (1 hour driving time) from Ogi Port.
