Cherry Blossoms at Yasukuni Shrine

A lively festival at a controversial location

As is eloquently discussed by many, Yasukuni Shrine is a controversial location due to its position as a memorial to those who died in World War II. Although this factor itself warrants a visit, in the spring the cherry blossoms are also well worth a trip.

A large festival is held on-site, and the historical significance of the location only adds to the splendor of the festival.
