The classic romantic comedy Pretty Woman was released in 1990, and featured Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in the leading roles. The story follows Vivian Ward (played by Roberts), a vivacious and streetwise prostitute in Los Angeles, who is hired by wealthy businessman Edward Lewis (Richard Gere) to accompany him to social events for a week. Despite their vastly different backgrounds, they develop a genuine connection as they spend time together.
The movie has been adapted into a musical, which will be heading to Tokyo's New National Theater for several days this September. Ticket prices range from 9000 JPY to 16000 JPY depending on the seating section, and ticket sales open up from May 18th, 2024.
After the session at the New National Theater, the musical will move to the Tachikawa Stage Garden venue.
