Shinagawa is often nicknamed the "gateway to Tokyo" thanks to its major train station and port facilities, making it a great place for easily accessible events. This July, the Shinagawa Summer Festival is set to take place at Shinagawa Intercity and Shinagawa Grand Commons, two venues which are located in close proximity to Shinagawa Station.

The five-day event has a wide array of activities, including numerous cultural performances (featuring music, dance, martial arts, and more), a sake booth area, hands-on workshops, and more.

The event operates with a ticket system, where 2000 yen equals 10 tickets. These can be used to purchase food and drink, or to take part in the hands-on workshops. Tickets can be arranged online here.

Getting there

Shinagawa Intercity and Shinagawa Grand Commons are both located under 5 minutes on foot from Shinagawa Station. The station is served by various lines including the Tokaido Shinkansen, the JR Yamanote Line, and the Keikyu Main Line to name just a few.
