Tokyo's Sakura Illuminations

The best places to see the cherry blossoms at night

By Kylie Plester    - 1 min read

Cherry Blossom season is a magical time to be in Japan and one of the best ways to enjoy the Sakura is to head to one of the many spots for night time illuminations called Yozakura.

Some spots worth heading to in Tokyo include the Chidorigafuchi Moat and the Yasukuni Shrine across the road, Meguro River from Naka-Meguro station and Sumida Park which is a very popular Yozakura hanami spot. Some other options that I missed out on this year include Ueno Park, Roppongi Hills and Midtown as well as Rikugien Garden with it's illuminated weeping cherry tree.

Wherever you choose you are sure to fall in love with the beauty of the Sakura at night.
