Kuma Seido no Kairo Art Gallery

On Route 33 just into Kumakogen is a large, bronze eagle. Follow the tree-lined road up the hill and be rewarded with an unexpected diversion of stone and bronze.

Sculptures are Western, Japanese, and Chinese.

Some of the pieces are replicas but are intriguing and demand attention.

Look carefully and you will be delighted by charming details.

There are permanent displays and visiting exhibitions for guests to enjoy.

Indoor sculptures are bathed in light from the large windows and glass doors that lead to the pieces outside.

The sculpture bug is in the air and the creative spirit is contagious.

Admission is 500 yen for adults, 300 yen for high school students, and 200 yen for junior high school students and children.

The gallery is open on weekends from 10 am to 5 pm although closed during the months from December to March. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are open by appointment only if you call 089-221-2221 up to three days in advance.
