Sayama Park is a delightful city park with open and wooded spaces that encompasses the eastern slope of the damn forming Lake Tama. The park was created in 1951 and is a popular cherry blossom viewing destination. From the top of the dam, which you can walk the length of, you can look out onto Lake Tama and, if you are lucky on a clear day, you will be able to see Mt. Fuji in the distance. There is a also an amusement park at the northern end of the park called Seibuen Yuenchi.
