Regarded as a key figure of the Impressionist movement, Claude Monet (1840 – 1926) had a significant focus on nature in his artworks, particularly with respect to the changing of the seasons. This nature-based focus often resulted in series of paintings, such as the well-known Haystacks and Water Lilies collections.

A special exhibition coming to Tokyo's Ueno Royal Museum will explore some of Monet's works created from the perspective of a series, including pieces from the Waterloo Bridge collection of 41 oil paintings.

After the Tokyo event, a follow-on exhibition will be held at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka from February 10, 2024 until May 6, 2024.

The Ueno Royal Museum is located approximately three minutes on foot from JR Ueno Station's Park exit.
