Faces in Todaiji Temple in Nara

Be sure to see them, in addition to the Great Buddha

Todaiji Temple is one of the most famous temples in Japan. It is a wonderful place to visit and its main highlight is the Great Buddha of Nara.

However, in addition to the amazing size of the Buddha, we can find many other impressive and beautiful figures here. If you visit in the early morning, before 9:00, it will be less crowded (I visited in August 2014, during the off-season).
